So I downloaded ubuntu desktop 12.04 from the site. I used both Unetbootin and Universal USB Installed onto my USB. Each time I tried booting it but it would get stuck on the SysLinux screen.

I have searched all over the internet, without a working solution:
I try to install Ubuntu via USB on my netbook.
I put the ISO on my usb with unetbootin, and try to start it on my laptop.
It is stuck on the screen SYSLINUX 4.03 2010-10-22 EDD Copyright etc.
I having trouble getting to boot from a Live USB pendrive explained in Ubuntu.com website. I downloaded various iso images and only had success in booting from Live a CD or DVD. I gotten newer hardware which it should be able to boot from usb, I set the bios option to boot from USB FDD first and I get something like in the following scene but it remains stuck in: Syslinux...
I really searched a lot in Google, but i don't found anything. I want to replace my GRUB with Syslinux. I just installed syslinux with sudo apt-get install syslinux (alias, it seems it was already installed) but I don't know how to set it to be the bootloader. I tried syslinux-install_update -ima just like in Archlinux, but it failed.
I sucessfully extracted ubuntu 12.04 to a formatted FAT32 usb. Than when I tried booting into ubuntu a screen that says the SYSLINUX copyright is shown and stuck like that. I cannot type or do anything in that screen except turn the power off (obviously). Also the usb I am using is seen as FDD instead of USB for some reason. Thanks!
I'm trying to boot to Ubuntu from a USB stick, and it works just fine on my desktop computer, I'm able to boot without error. when I try to do it on my laptop, however, all that I get is a banner of white text at the top of a black screen with the syslinux copyright information. the same thing happened when I tried booting puppy Linux.
I am trying to install Ubuntu from a bootable USB stick. However, it seems that it is written corrupted on the USB. I have tried both the ubuntu-12.10-desktop-i386 and the ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-i386 ISO files. I have tried Universal-USB-Installer-184.108.40.206, YUMI-0.0.7.9 and the latest version of LiLi.
