My PC has been freezing every few hours since I installed Ubuntu 12-10. I mostly use G+ and YouTube on Chromium. I went back to 12-04. I will wait until 12-10 stabilizes.

Hi guys! Thanks for reading this!! I installed Ubuntu 11.10 yesterday because I had a pretty effin awful virus and it wiped my windows OS. Dammit! So I installed Ubuntu and decided to have it as my main OS! W00t! But I am having some problems, just 1 really! The first is that every 15 seconds or so the entire system will freezes, just for half a second or so, maybe less!
I decided to try and move all together to Ubuntu after dual booting on my old computer for some years. I heard of improvements in stability etc but it hasn't been 4 hours since I installed ubuntu into my newly build desktop and I already had five freezes where I had to force power off the machine.
I installed ubuntu 12.04 along with Windows 8 as dual boot system on Sony Vaio F11 laptop.
When I run Flash video (youtube, espn3) ubuntu seems freezing the whole system..I happened to do cold reboot few times which allows me to get back to ubutu...Then later I was reading about Magic Recovery Key ( Alt+PrntScreen+R+E+I+S+U+B) and tried when it frozen again..
I'm at wit's end. My computer freezes very, very frequently. I'm using 12.04 (32bit, though my computer supports 64 bit, but I had freezes with that too), I've had the same trouble on 12.10. I've used kernels 3.2, 3.5 and 3.8, all still have freezing. I'm not sure how to identify the package causing the freezing, but if anyone has any idea, I will supply whatever info you need.
I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 alongside Windows 7. When I start the computer in Ubuntu it usually freezes at the login screen and it also freezes sometimes when I try to open a program. If I reboot from the login screen in Windows Ubuntu will work normally.
I installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu 13.10 it was working great for about an hour then it started randomly freezing up for God knows what reason. It freezes every few minutes or so then unfreezes, I've had to do a few hard shutdowns in the process due to it never unfreezing several times. I've restarted my computer several times and everything, I just don't get it.
I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS not long time ago.
Everything went smooth with the installation.
Soon after I began to experience freezing of the system.
It mostly happens when I scroll the mouse wheel ,but recently it happened also without obvious reason.
When it happens I have to reboot the system to overcome the problem, but soon after, it freezes up again.
Now I'm writing fr
for no apparent reason ubuntu (12.04) suddenly does not boot anymore without displaying an error msg. sometimes it shows the logo, sometimes not, so it's not the same place where it freezes. btw booting from an ubuntu (13.04) stick also freezes the system.
i have a dual boot with windows 7 which incredibly enough also freezes during boot now.
