[ubuntu] Tuxonice - resume from hibernate

However, the last two days I have not been able to resume under a specific set of circumstances (under which I previously had no problem). Yesterday I just had a black screen (perhaps with a mouse cursor) - I attempted to just type my password and see if it would log in, but that didn't work. When I reset, it said that my display driver had crashed. Today when resuming I was able to log in to the desktop but unity didn't seem to work (the windows had no decoration which included the close, minimize, max/restore buttons; ther (Hardware)

I'm trying to setup hibernate on my new rig, and I've gotten tuxonice working a few times, but then I had a failed hibernate, and sense then, I can't resume from a hibernate. TuxOnIce has the loading bar, and the text interface, and successfully brings the computer into hibernate. However when resuming from hibernate, the screen stays black, then displays random pixels everywhere, and hangs.

I recently installed tuxonice on a Toshiba z830. I have ubuntu 12.04 (kernel was: 3.2.0-26) I wanted to be able to hibernate, which I consider to be a basic thing a OS should allow you to do. Well, it didn't work...but they already tell you it may not so I removed it.

I'm on Arch and I have a strange issue with systemctl hibernate command. It hibernates and resumes just fine (I have TuxOnIce), but in the last stage of resume, it completely shuts down my laptop screen, so I cannot see anything even though I know the system resumed just fined and the desktop is running.

I am having trouble resuming from hibernation using TuxOnIce method. The thing works, but in a very strange manner. Here's how it looks:

1. Computer boots and finds resume image and starts resume. It reads image from disk (takes ~10 seconds) Reading kernel & process data... Atomic restore. Doing atomic copy/restore.

2. Resume pauses for about ~30 seconds displaying above message.

Hi,I didn't know where to put this (is it harware problem? is it xorg problem?). I tried to get hibernation to work on my PC. I can hibernate successfuly and I can even resume, but xorg isn't working properly after resuming.

I'm using a KDE Ubuntu based distro (Linux Maya 13 KDE edition). I have installed tuxonice and if I execute this from the command line:

sudo hibernate

then it hibernates and resumes very quickly. If I try to do it from the KDE GUI, it just locks my desktop and nothing else.

My system is able to resume from suspend only after I've let it hibernate:scratch:.

When I do a fresh boot and suspend the system just after the desktop started, resuming will result in a black screen and I had to power off the computer (see pm-suspend-kde-fail.log).

Since switching to Karmic, suspend and hibernate are not working consistently on my Toshiba Satellite. I have it set to hibernate when I close the lid, but doing so only turns off the screen. The suspend and hibernate keys on my keyboard also no longer work. When I select these options from the menu, the computer will suspend or hibernate properly.

TuxOnIce hibernation works on my machine, BUT during resume it stops for about a minute whilst doing nothing. I would like to remove this delay but I don't know what's the source of it.Here are the logs:  http://pastebin.com/5d9EaK4UAnd here the config files: http://pastebin.com/6NKQBWud
