Hi.
I'm trying, since several days (weeks?), to install chkrootkit with the instrcutions on Additional Security Software but it seem that the wget link is broken.
Where can i get a true copy of chkrootkit ?
Thanks.
I have upgraded to 13.04 desktop. I run rkhunter and chkrootkit once every couple weeks and have never had a rootkit. However, after upgrading, I am showing this:
Quote:
Searching for Suckit rootkit... Warning: /sbin/init INFECTED
This is the output from chkrootkit. I have upgraded 3 computers and all show the same.
I want to run chkrootkit from a Live-CD. I downloaded SystemrescueCD, burned it, and booted with it. Then I ran chkrootkit from the terminal.
No problems found. But didn't I check only the LiveCD, instead of my system?
If so, how to check my system itself?

Hi, I'm sorry, that I'm writing in this topic, but I think my problem seems to be similar. Yesterday I launched chkrootkit to check some things. Everything seems to be fine, but I'm wonder on this:
Code:
Checking `chkutmp'... The tty of the following user process(es) were not found in /var/run/utmp
! RUID PID TTY CMD
!
is this bad, i ran a chkrootkit. =Checking `sniffer'... wlan0: PF_PACKET(/usr/sbin/wpa_supplicant, /sbin/dhclient)?
also how to delete it? thanks
I am having a problem that doesn't seem to be common based on searching various forums.
I cannot run the Make command.

I recently rebuilt my system and did a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04. Now, everything I try to install returns the following errors. I have tried installing the troubled packages but I get the same errors.
I tried mysql in my command line :
I get :
The program 'mysql' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install mysql-client-core-5.5
But when I do:
sudo apt-get install mysql-client-core-5.5
But I get:
