Before hand, my box would connect straight away. after I turned off the beacon it sometimes takes up to a full 2 minutes or more to find it and connect. I can speed up the process by disabling the wireless adapter and reenabling through the NetworkManager icon. output of "lspci | grep Wireless" Code: 07:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. Can anyone help me, i have a AR928X wireless card and everything i have tried has failed

the default driver ath9k scans and connects to my router but cant connect to any site or ping anything , same with the madwifi driver

I'm pretty new to the drivers. I'm having problems with the current installed drivers for my Atheros AR5B91 Wireless Network Adapter.

I have a Lenovo U450p Ideapad. I just upgraded to 12.04 from 10.04. The wireless worked in 10.04.

I recently installed xfce4 with a wired connection and used the newly updated install cd ISO. After using the wired connection to install what I needed I went on to install what is needed for the wireless setup. I went with wpa_supplicant and networkmanager. I configured my wpa_supplicant.conf appropriately and installed the drivers needed for my atheros wireless adapter.

This is a post to try to help both myself and others that want to run Ubuntu on this bargain laptop, as I couldn't find much regarding this hardware, and several critical components does not work.
