[ubuntu] Trash Icon Gone...

http://ubuntuforums.org – Sorry guys if its a repost. I am new to Ubuntu, using Ubuntu 12.04. What happened is that i right clicked the trash icon, clicked the icon and changed it to some icon i downloaded from internet. After changing it, i realized that i does not work properly. I since yday, i have been trying to change it back to the default icon. I deleted the downloaded icon and now it shows just a white icon. (attached). I am using Gnome Shell and selected icone theme is Unity icon theme. I have already tried trash properties, click in icon, click revert. No good... Attache (Hardware)

hi alli am new to e17, and have met some problems with iconsmany apps dependes on hicolor-icon-theme (such like firefox).but it seems that e17 can not find the icons in a icon theme (can not find firefox.png in /usr/share/icon/hicolor/48x48/apps/firefox.png)i have searched and the google says icon theme can be choosed in [ settings > setting panel > look > icon theme ]but there is no icon

Changing Maya's system icon 3 years 25 weeks ago

How can i change the system icon for maya? Because i now have a default window icon for maya and I want to change that for a custom icon. It does not work changing the desktop icon or menu icon or launcher icon because it's not connected with the system icon.

Hello,Ive been trying for a while now to change the icon theme. I have previously and I'm not sure what the problem is. Right now my icon theme is set to Oxygen and I tried to change it to another, but when I hit apply the button darkens but no changes actually take place. Logging out/in doesn't affect anything. My system is fully upgraded using lxappearance 0.5.2-1.

I just have installed Ubuntu 12.10 (fresh new installation) and installed an icon theme pack - Nitrux Icons - and everything is fine, except the battery icon in the system tray. Here's the icon with the charge adapter unplugged:

And it looks fine - that's the real icon.

I'm new to the Samsung Galaxy Note and am on a steep learning curve. I have just accidently put the settings icon in the trash can while trying to move it. Can you please help with how to retrieve it?

i tried this: apt-get install ubuntu-desktop but i got this error:

Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/g/gnome-icon-theme/gnome-icon... Connection failed

then i tried to install gnome-icon-theme by myself,but i can't find the 10.10's gnome-icon-theme in http://pkgs.org/download/gnome-icon-theme :(

DrRacket icon doesnt work? 36 weeks 2 days ago

I installed DrRacket from the Ubuntu Software Center. All went well and an icon appeared however nothing happened when I clicked the icon so I removed it. Then went to the Developer website and downloaded full-5.3.0.21-bin-x86_64-linux-debian-squeeze.sh. I installed this via Terminal with sudo apt-get install racket.
