i have a slight annoying problem with my Trash Folder.I'm using Thunar! Some files are giving error messages when I want to empty the trash."File could not be deleted""Items in the trash may not be modified. Do you want to skip it?"When I say yes it delets them anyway.I cheked the folder at my home/.local...
Originally I had issues with my trash folder because often times I would want to batch delete and I would get complaints about the Trash reaching maximum capacity despite nothing being in there. Not sure what to do I deleted the folder from root and now I can't delete anything.
So I figured recently that rm moved files to the Thunar trash (.local/share/Trash) by getting a nice "disk full" warning on my meager virtualbox disk.By all means, I believes it's a good idea, but it's a shame that it isn't documented anywhere.
I'm trying to create a Bash script which will move files to the trash, basically something that does the same thing as "kioclient move file1 file2 file3 trash:/" but more easily.
I'm working on an external USB HDD in Thunar. The /media/MOUNT folder now contains a ".Trash-1000" folder. I removed it with Shift-Del, created a dummy file and deleted it, and the folder re-appeared, so it's definitely created by Thunar. I've done some searching, but I can't find a way to empty the trash from within Thunar. Any ideas?
Not earth-shattering, I don't suppose, but have noticed that since installing 11.3 (Fresh install, x64, DVD), the "Recently Used" list in the "Start(? Kicker??)" Menu, doesn't save applications through a reboot...
So, my wireless is flaking out! I'm going through this document to troubleshoot it:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...Device_Drivers
I'm stuck when it tells me to go to "System -> Administration". I have Unity desktop - maybe that's not written for Unity desktop -
I can find the System Settings OK but there's no "Administration" and no "Drivers"...
I have reinstalled Ubuntu at least 12 times, it's no joke! I keep doing stupid things to f#$% up the sytem. One thing I have noticed is the want of a System > Administration > menu. I have looked everywhere. I just saw a post that said go to "System > Administration > "Synaptic Package Manager"" but of course I couldn't.
