Hi everyone,
Hey. I've just recently started using Ubuntu on my MacBook, and I actually quite like it. A major problem I've run into, however, is that the trackpad is rather sluggish and stiff. I have to press a whole section of my finger on the trackpad for it to register anything, and even then it moves quite slow. I've tried cranking up the sensitivity and acceleration, but that's not worked either.
I have fixed my trackpad's crappy sensitivity using this and also this. While both of these problems are fixed, and the trackpad is much nicer now, there's one thing preventing me from calling it perfect. Trying to two finger click is horrendous now. Any time I try to place two fingers on the trackpad and click, it scrolls.
I want to install Crunchbang on my 2006 Macbbook but there is an issue with the trackpad. Currently I am using the Live CD and am unable to find a way to "right click". In Linux Mint on the Macbook I am able to tap the trackpad with two fingers which acts as a right click.
I've been having this issue for a long time without being able to resolve it, and I would really appreciate some help on the issue.
I have a Samsung RF510 laptop, which features an evdev trackpad. The trackpad works fine, but on linux the pressure detection is way too sensitive and leads me to constantly click the mouse while I'm coding.
Every time (twice so far) that I download the PPA from gwibber that makes the trackpad fully functional I lose the launcher bar in 3D mode and cannot get it back without doing a full OS re-install.
Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you resolve it? Are there other fixes for the trackpad that are more stable?
Thanks!
I've been tinkering with various settings for both xf86-input-synaptics and xf86-input-mtrack-git from the AUR. They both work relatively well, but I can't quite get the functionality I'd like from either and am hoping someone here has found a solution.
I recently upgraded to OpenSUSE 11.2 w/KDE interface from OpenSUSE 11.1 w/Gnome. I've got most of the bugs worked out except for configuring the trackpad behavior. Specifically, I want to dial down its sensitivity a little bit and disable the 'tap click' feature that recognizes a tap on the trackpad as a mouse click.
How should I configure a Magic Trackpad in 12.04 to
ignore my thumb at the bottom of the trackpad
change scrolling speed
change gesture functions (e.g. have three-finger tap = middle-click), if doing so is possible
?
I tried installing gsynaptics and using gpointing-device-settings, but its palm-detection and scrolling settings do nothing.
