Hi guys,
my wife has a Toshiba Satellite L500-1XC. I installed 10.04 on the machine when we bought it last year and it's worked fine ever since.
On Friday I ditched my Sky ADSL package (which we never had any problems using) and moved over to BT's Infinity, but I'm having problems with the WiFi.
The laptop can see the router. I can connect to the router.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 with Ubuntu 12.04 and its wifi suddenly stopped working!! I've never seen like that before.. I tried also using external USB wifis but no success. I am not able to turn it on with the function keys nor using rfkill commands and similar WLAN manipulator Commands in the terminal! It was working before for at least 4-5 months!!
I have seen similar problems on this site and on others, and I have tried all sorts of solutions posted, but so far non have worked. I have a Toshiba Satellite M115-S1061 that came with Windows XP. I want to learn Linux so I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and the sound isn't not working correctly. It worked fine on Windows XP beforehand.
Hello everyone, I recently got a toshiba satellite c855d-s5105, and while after turning off UEFI and secureboot worked and Lubuntu installed I've found that there is no sound. I believe the built in sound card is a realtek ALC2269VB. Are there any fixes that could get the sound to work? Sorry, and thanks in advance.
I've got a Toshiba Satellite A665-S6094 that I've just installed Fedora 17 onto. When I have a process that utilizes 100% of the cpu for more than 15 minutes or so, the computer force shuts down due to overheating.
Back when I had windows 7 and I overused the processor the fan speed would go into "jet engine" mode while it made a dreadful sound, however it never shut down due to overheating.
help!!!! i'm a brand new openSUSE user and know nothing about computers. my sound did work and i ripped on CD in Banshee and now it does not have any sound.>:) tried looking for a related forum question and on page 2 there is a post "11.3 Gnome, totem, banshee no sound" that followed with no success. how do i get my sound on?
I'm using Ubuntu 12.10, and I'm not getting any sound from my Toshiba Satellite P100's internal speakers. I have an Intel NM10/ICH7 Family High Definition Audio Controller, and it's recognized by the system when I type lspci -v | grep -A7 -i "audio" into the CLI. My sound card is also listed in the Ubuntu sound card matrix, so it should be supported.
