[ubuntu] Todays updates destroy Unity 3D desktop

http://ubuntuforums.org – Just updated an install that took me two weeks to fix with nvidia/neywork problems. Got that all fixed , then , updated just now, and now Unity 3D is gone. LightDm only and background wallpaper with compiz-errors to report but apport will not report , why , because no desktop.! etc.. Todays update on one particular install took all my saved desktop screenshots.etc and put them in desktop folder!!

Whenever any application like firefox is executed from unity launcher it takes 3 seconds and appears on screen (Unity 3D)

while in case of Unity 2D it run at the instant the icon gets clicked

The 3 second waiting really annoys me

System specs: 1 Gb RAM Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor

Everything was working great till I updated about 8 days ago!

I installed Ununtu 9.04 64 on this laptop. And I tried everything, but I cannot get sound to work. Ant help is appreciated.

Gusar is rigth. The compat-wireless have drivers for Ethernet, bluethoot and others thingsSorry for not give information, that's because I was change several things, such as rc.conf (modules), netcfg, networkmanager and so on.lspci -k (see the last pci) 00:00.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] RS780 Host Bridge Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

I am running Fedora 17 x86_64 and my HDMI monitor is not detected. I would like to have dual monitor's configured. Any help is greatly appreciated.

No sound missing drivers??? 34 weeks 4 days ago

So i tried the other questions they have not worked, i know for a fact that after installing ubuntu and installing the drivers the sound just starts to work a few days later, however i dont have the additional drivers package on crunch bang so i have no idea what to do!
