Thunderbird can be configured to work seamlessly with Google's Gmail service. Messages are synchronized between your local version of Thunderbird and the web-based Gmail.
Configuring your Gmail account
To configure Thunderbird to work with Gmail, first enable IMAP on your Gmail account. See Gmail's instructions for help.
I've added shortcuts for multiple email accounts onto the homescreen, however when I get new email it doesn't show which account has unread messages.
For example, the attached image shows 3 unread messages in the unified inbox, but there's no quick breakdown if there's # unread messages in inbox 1, inbox 2, or inbox 3.
Any help?

An
Thunderbird can be used as a client for a Hotmail email account. Thunderbird will download messages from the Hotmail server and store them on your local system. Similarly, Thunderbird can be used to compose messages which are sent through Hotmail's mail servers.
Hi,
My gmail app keeps giving me new e-mail notifications every time the number of unread items in my inbox changes. So say I have 4 unread message in my inbox, and I already cleared my gmail notification for the newest 4th e-mail, and say I go and read one of them on my laptop, so now I have 3 unread messages.
I am using the gmail App to access my gmail account. When I view the inbox the newest messages are from a few days ago. I know because I can see them all on my computer.
If I search on a keyword that is part of a message I know is new, it brings it up and I can see it. However if I scroll down the list of messages they get older.
I have gmail set to IMAP.
I have installed the Thunderbird email client and think that the mails are being stored in the files Inbox and Inbox.msf.
Is it possible to convert the Inbox and Inbox.msf files into individual files?
I belong to some email groups on groups.yahoo.com. Every time you send a message to the group, everyone on the group list receives it. Therefore, when I send a message to group, everyone, including me, should get it.
However, my Gmail is displaying everyone's messages except mine. I see all of their messages in my inbox, but my messages to the group never arrive.
Is it possible to get thunderbird to show the [Gmail]/Important as the default inbox?
If so, how?
I use thunderbird as my email client and there are many things that I like about it. My issue at the moment is that it is somewhat difficult to keep settings/messages in sync between different machines.
