http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi everyone "Inherited" an IBM Thinkpad i-Series 2621-560 ("1400") Managed to get it running, loaded Win XP, and went to load Ubuntu 9.10 from an ISO image disc. So far, so good. However, as soon as the disc spins up it prompts me for language; I then select "install" and it spins up for awhile, then dumps me to blackscreen with the following message: [ 9.550201] Kernel panic not syncing: Out of memory and no killable processes ... [ 9.550230] _ (cursor blinking) And that's it. Tried checking the memory first, did a disc scan, tried just about every option; same results. The machine has only 64 mb of RAM in it; is that enough to run Linux at all?? Thanks in advance Karl (Hardware)
