This is new since upgrade to 11.10, now when I click the system menus for notification icons, logged in user, etc on the top right, they don't stay open, they just close immediately.
Application menus on the top right do stay open correctly once clicked.
This is pretty inconsistent an awful, so how do I fix it? :)
A bunch of keys on my keyboard were recently pressed by a cat jumping onto my keyboard in Xubuntu/XFCE4. Now every app I open has no Title bar or Minimize, Maximize & Close buttons. Also, the windows ingore the the panels on the top and bottom of the desktop.
With most programs, context (right-click) menus and other menus have a shadow under them to indicate that they're separate from the rest of the program. This makes them easy to read. In LibreOffice, however, menus don't have shadows, and the top menu (file/edit/view, etc) is still in the program window itself, instead of in the global menu. How can I fix these problems?
After a recent update of muffin-git*, popup (mostly right-click) menus in all applications have become invisible - if I click where I think the popup menu is supposed to be, a random action occurs (as I don't know which command is being clicked). Firefox compact menu uses a popup so this does not display either. Popup menus only work in Java applications (e.g., libre-office).Norma
Computers ship these days with high resolution screens and some with ips screens

Ok, this is a really bizarre problem. I installed Ubuntu 9.10 about a month ago, and everything has worked great. But a couple days ago, the buttons on my wireless usb mouse stopped working. I'd click various things but nothing would happen. Brand new batteries, and I was able to move the cursor.
I started using Lubuntu (12.04) and I like the customizations that I was able to make, especially fitting icons and themes ('Widgets' - as 'Customize Look and Feel' calls them.)
But for some reason about a half of the themes make my menus display a pale font on a whitish background - and look unclear.
I'm experiencing random lockups with some GTK applications, and apparently with only those that use GTK+ 3.x, in 13.04.
I upgraded to it yesterday, so I don't know if it is a result of the upgrade not transferring some setting or something.
Hi,
Have upgraded from 10.04, and i don't like the way 12.04 'works' as a desktop.
There is no taskbar as before. The apps are not all set out neatly from top menus. If you have many Firefox windows open, you have to click the app icon twice to see other windows. If I'm in an app like KMail, I can't get to the other windows within KMail, unless I go click the KMail icon again, ..
