[ubuntu] Still can't hear audio after upgrade

http://ubuntuforums.org – Can't hear audio after upgrading to U-10.04. If I restart in original install I can still hear audio. ???? Recently have installed other softwares thinking something might turn the speaker on, but it still doesn't have sound. And YES the audio level is on (not mute) and all the way up. Can I do a compare between the two different installations to see which file might be being looked for? (Hardware)

I am on 2.3.6 and I am using a Samsung SPH-930BST.

Today, I tried to retrieve my voice mail and I could not hear anything. I tried selecting "speaker" to listen via speakerphone and it will NOT select.

I tried playing music from files on the android and although they looked like they were playing, I could not hear anything through the speaker.

I have just installed linux mint 13 and I haven't used linux before so I apologise upfront if this question seems basic. I am unable to hear any form of audio on file which I try to play in any "media playing" application but I am not sure why.

When I log onto the system I get the start-up sound (before entering login details).

OS: Ubuntu 12.04 installed with virtualbox on Windows 7 Headset: Mic plantronics audio 400 DSP

Issues: I cannot use the MIC but I can hear sound from the headset without problems.

Here is the sound settings:

selected Output: LFE on Separate Mono Ouput/Amplifier Buit-in Audio

Input options: Vido built-in audio analog input built-in audio line in built-in audio microphone/microphone

I've installed a tv card but I can't hear the sound through my built-in CMedia soundcard when I watch tv with TVTime. The tv card's audio output is externally connected to my soundcard's line in input. In the 'Input' tab of the 'Sound Preferences' dialog, I can see the input level meter moving.

Hi, i am using fedora 12 and i have an audio problem with skype and amsn

i can hear music mp3 songs and online radio without any problem, so i suppose my audio device is working, but when i am trying to make a call from skype or amsn i can hear but they can't hear me

As the Title says, I can hear sound watching TV. Also, I can hear sound when I watch internet videos in MythTV. But if I watch videos in a news feed or in the web browser I get no audio. Also, if I quit mythfrontend and watch a video in the chromium web browser I get no audio. However, if I use VLC player to directly watch my hdhomerun stream I get audio.

I use a VAIO Laptop VPCEB14EN & have installed UBUNTU 10.04.2 Version.

When i play any AUDIO File,say Mp3 / Play a VIDEO ,it plays,but LAPTOP Speakers give almost NO Sound & on using EARPHONES,i get to hear a very Low Sound.

I have REALTEK HD AUDIO & HDMI DIGITAL AUDIO as shown in WINDOWS 7 DEVICE MANAGER

Can you please help me solve this PROBLEM.

I upgraded my laptop os to 12.04 LTS and played audio files using rhythm box player and suddenly the audio is not played in laptop speaker.

I am able to test and verify the sound box setting tool, but i could not hear any sound from laptop speaker.

Please help.

Does anyone hear a little feedback from the audio port if the sound is on, but there exists dead air? Example: Open Twitter, go to the top of your feed, then "pull down" to refresh tweets. It should play some little sound and add a bit of dead-air (or whatever the term). With one of my sets of headphones I hear some crackling, and another I don't.
