I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed on my Intel iMac. Except the keyboard everything is working fine out of the box. There is however one thing I like to be solved, that is strange startup behaviour. When I start the iMac Ubuntu will startup and failed to startup turn by turn.
Strange problem. Ubuntu works fine on my iMac if I choose previous kernals and use kernal 2.6.....25. (Don't know exact string).
The newest kernal that was installed after my upgrade was 2.6.....32. I try booting into that kernal and it just goes to black screen after about 20 seconds. About 50% of the time I get a boot loader, and then black.
I installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my iMac dual boot. When I go into Cheese, I don't see the iMac camera. What should I do?
Is there anyone out there who has been able to use the isight camera on their iMacs? I have a 2006 24" iMac dual booting with Mint 14 xfce.

hi from Gennaro from Naples-Italy
I want to install Ubuntu Desktop 12.0.4 on a dead iMac. The iMac has no OS installed into it. The only access I have is through an uncompatible OS X Snow Leopard DVD. This gives me access to Disk Utility and terminal (although the terminal will not recognise the sudo command).
I would like create a USB installer (not cd at all costs, as I have no access to CDS at this time).
When I select "restart" with 12.04 it begins the process, then stays forever stuck on the 3rd or 4th "dot" with the Ubuntu logo and never restarts so I don't have a choice but to force my iMac to shutdown.
Couldn't see any report of this issue anywhere. Does it ring a bell to someone? And is there a way to fix it?
Hey there guys! So I am having a bit of trouble (alot) while installing ubuntu. Ranging from Grpahical to Network. For whatever reason Ubuntu doesn't seem to like my iMac (and vice versa)
So here what I have done.
-Installed a Commandline System of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Only because when I did a normal install with the LiveCD Ubuntu system would start but! for some reason my screen came on black.
