Greetings forum.
As the title alludes to, I am using Linux Lite 1.0.4 and I am having problems getting the sound to work properly.
My sound card is a PCI - "Creative Labs, Sound Blaster Live 5.1" surround sound card, and the problem is, I cannot get sound from anything other than the front speakers.
I have tried adjusting the options in the sound preferences - Menu> Multimedia>
Hi!
After upgrading ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10, pulseaudio says that my Toshiba Multimedia Center soundcard is 4.0, but this is fake, because it's 5.1 surround sound card.
I'm tired by searching for good pulseaudio/alsa config, so I'm looking for external sound card fully working with Ubuntu.
My preferences:
* USB or ExpressCard interface
I have been working on this issue for several days now and still cannot get my sound card to work. Basically, I have a Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D sound card installed in a PCI slot and I am unable to play any sound through it. Note that I have the on board sound disabled in the BIOS. Also, it is my understanding that this sound card is supported as of kernel 3.5.
I have an internal sound card from a manufacturer not supported by ALSA. So, I got an external USB sound card from a friend. I cannot, however, get the card to even show up as an option on System-Preferences-Sound-Hardware. I also tried pulse audio volume control, also does not show up.
I have 2 sound cards : one is on board and other is Creative sound blaster.
I want to play sounds just on Crative.
The problem is when I reboot the PC the sound is change, sometime the default sound card is Creative sometime is the onboard card.
I want my default sound card to be only Creative.
How to do that?
Thank you
As the in built sound card on my laptop (an ergo microlite 411) died, I got a replacement usb sound card, an Aureon Dual from Terratec, which is meant to be compatible. So far I've managed to get the laptop to acknowledge the presence of the sound card when plugged in, but there's no sound coming out? Any suggestions? I've been trying to fix this on an insomnia kick, but no joy.
Hello, I just installed ubuntu 9.10 last night, and I am trying to get sound to work, but it isn't working :(.
I use Pinnacle internal TV Tuner card and was using TVTime viewer.
I''m running Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit on my laptop with an external Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro sound card plugged in via USB.
If I have output selected to stereo output then everything plays fine in stereo. However if I select surround 5.1 output then a fast clicking sound emits from all speakers, both when playing or sound or not.
