Apparently, even domestic Christmas lights are controlled by computers nowadays, and hopefully, as you all know, that means they're hackable. Andrej Kyselica, a Microsoft employee, took some GE-35 Christmas lights, hooked them into a .NET Micro Framework embedded controller, took another developer's work, developed a driver -- and voila!
OK, I know there are bunch of back-lit issues already posted and answered but mine is different so please don't' ignore me. lol.
In windows 7, my keyboard back-lit is always turned on while on AC mode, which I like because I work at night and on AC power most of the time.
Ive got a Dell XPS M1730 laptop. Its got led lights on the back, as well as lights in the speakers / trackpad that can change color.
This isn't really an Ubuntu question, more of a general laptop/hardware question, but these forums have lot's of smart brains so I thought I'd try and see if anyone can help.
My laptop (Dell XPS M1330) will suddenly shut down...completely and instantly turn off when it's not plugged in. Sometimes this happens after 5 minutes of being unplugged, sometimes it's an hour after being unplugged.
So when I get a new email, text, etc, my phone makes a notification sound, but nothing lights up. I'm wondering if there's any way to have the front key lights, or the screen light up when I get a new email, text, etc.
Can anyone please tell that Sony Vaio E series or any series ( T or S) are working fine
with windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 in dual boot configuration.
I am planning to buy a SONY VAIO E series with following configuration:
14'' Premium E series Sony Vaio laptop ( SVE14A15FDS or SVE14A15FDB)
3rd gen Intel® Core™ i5-3210M processor (2.50GHz / 3.10GHz),
Intel® HD Graphics 4000
Installed Memory :
SONY Vaio VPCZ112GX is a powerful notebook powered by Intel Core i5 processor series. It was built using a 32 nm process for higher efficiency. The cores are based on the Nehalem microarchitecture, and is a good processor for multi-tasking on laptops.
I have been using ubuntu on my Vaio labtop for quit a while now, but I couldn't figure out how to get these touch sensors to work as they do on Windows.
Can anyone help me with this.
Last night was the grand lighting ceremony for The Bay Lights, the $8.8 million art installation that will turn the historically drab San Francisco Bay Bridge into the world’s largest LED light sculpture every night for the next two years.
It’s clearly a work of art first and foremost, but there is a lot of technology at play here too.
