I can't install anything from software center because it is stuck at applying/searching, when i cancel it, it is stuck at canceling. Then software center gives me a pop up box that it needs to be repaired, so i click "repair" but in the progress of "repairing installed software" it is stuck at applying changes. Can somebody please help me?

I download a trial version of Crossover and started to install it using Ubuntu Software Center. As the install was about to finish it stopped and would not complete. I switched of and restated the Software Center but it is still trying to carry on installing.
Ok any time i try to download anything from the software centre if locks up with applying changes then when i cancel it it sits and cancels forever and wont go away rebooting dose not help stays cancelling when you open the software centre got it to go away once but same thing happened the next time i tried to download same thing happened.

UGH!!! Out of the blue my LG Optimus Q's screen is frozen. It won't allow my to taptouch at all. I am able to get around a little using the keyboard (thank heaven for a slide out keyboard here) but I can't make calls to anyone unless I have a txt msg saved from them. I've tried removing the battery and rebooting, no luck. Screen is still frozen!!
Any advice would really be helpful here.
I just had an issue several in my neighborhood had the last week,my update center started saying package broken.It looks like it was vlc so I ran sudo apt-get update,also uninstalled vlc.For hours I worked and now when I download an app in software center it installs so slowly I just cancel it.In the update center when its updating cache it never gets done.Does anyone know how to fix this?It seems
I run a process that sometime crash and sometime freeze. I used supervise to have it automatically restart when it crash. However, if it freeze, it stay frozen until I am back in front of the computer.
Usually I can change between monitors with Fn+F8 without problems. Only when I put the computer into hibernation, bring it back and then try to activate the external mnitoor I get a 100% freeze and need to hard reset. When I press Fn+F8 then, the monitor activates, both screens turn black with only the mousepointer on them.
I was using my laptop -installed w/12.04- with an external optical mouse. sometimes it gets frozen -and makes me very very angry:mad:- and lights of mouse turn off. After a mini wait, it opens again. Its receiver were plugged in usb 3.0 port. How can I stop this problem?
I just installed Ubuntu onto my Laptop. It was successfully installing for a while, then it stopped. It said almost finished copying files, but it was stuck on the same spot for 10 minutes. Bored, i decided to play around with the features already on the top bar. I clicked the audio button (the microphone with the sound waves coming out). I clicked play, and the computer is now frozen.
