I have something weird here.
I have something weird here.
Skype has launched Skype Connect 1.0 - previously available in beta as Skype for SIP - a service that enables a business' IP PBX or unified comms systems to make and receive calls via Skype.
Like a noob, i tried installing skype numerous ways, non of them worked. Today i notice there is skype on Ubuntu software centre, when i try install i get this error message:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
skype: Depends: skype-bin but it is not going to be installed
How can i install skype ? what do i need to do?
Im a noob. sorry. D:
I performed two F18 installations on the same hardware (I had to resintall for some reasons) in a week's span. Neither installation had any problems with anything except one program - skype.
In the first installation, skype worked very well. No problems whatsoever. However, in my installation today, I just am not able to get skype to work.
hi friends,
After struggling of hard efforts, I am failed to install the skype in ubuntu 12.10 and 64 bit machine.
Every time, it is showing the error
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
skype: Depends: skype-bin but it is not going to be installed
Please help me to install the skype.
Thanks in advance to all
Regards,
Prakash
I installed downloaded skype from official website "Ubuntu 12.04 (multiarch)" and installed it.
I just installed Skype on my Ubuntu 12.04 again and somehow I can only login if I start Skype via root (sudo skype) in the terminal. If I try otherwise via dash or just "skype" without sudo permission I can't log in, it says "Login failed" or "Sign in failed" (got the German version).
I've downloaded skype for ubuntu, but after several attempts at installing it, and ubuntu even telling me it has been installed, it is nowhere to be found.
This either means that ubuntu has hidden it, or that ubuntu has in fact not installed it. I don't know which it is, but would simply like to use skype. What can I do to convince ubuntu to install skype properly?
