After months and months of dealing with mouse pointer lockups and chasing dead end threads, responding to requests for information then not hearing any more I've decided to look at this from another angle: configuration.
Is there something in a config file that I can adjust to eliminate the lockups ?
Is anyone else seeing random segfaults in dmesg?
I've been getting random application crashes, lockups, etc., and in dmesg I'm seeing things like:
[ 484.777553] pool[4765]: segfault at 8 ip 00007f65349ddc7d sp 00007f652172e920 error 6 in libsoup-2.4.so.1.5.0[7f653498a000+a0000]
The process is not the same; I've seen pulseaudio, libecal, libc, ...
I've also had a soft lockups in one of my CPUs
I'm experiencing random lockups with some GTK applications, and apparently with only those that use GTK+ 3.x, in 13.04.
I upgraded to it yesterday, so I don't know if it is a result of the upgrade not transferring some setting or something.
My Laptop was running fine when I left for a week-long trip to Canada, and when I came back, it started locking up on me several times a day.
Hello,
On a newly purchased Acer 5250 laptop I recently installed Ubuntu 11.10, which was followed by a string of random lockups, more often than not triggered by attempting to connect to a wireless network. I decided to "downgrade" to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, thinking it more reliable/stable.
Gah. It's still continuing. It doesnt seem to save a log before the crash. I took a picture though. Maybe someone can decipher it.
I've had more lockups since the ICS update but one of the most annoying ones has been, now and then, my phone will lock up during a call. I cannot answer or ignore it and it will just ring forever until I hold power button in for 10 seconds to restart. Anyone else have this issue?
As mentioned, since ICS, I've had more lockups and reminds me of the days when was still an Infuse owner. :(

My Specs.
AMD 6 Core 3.5 GHz Processor
8GB RAM
ASUS M5A97 Motherboard
NVidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti
Corsair H60 Cooler

Okay so, start up the computer it sounds normal, hear the fans running, but it's not intense.
