I just purchased a vps and made it boot Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, installed LAMP web server and moved my web site. Here’s how did I install and set up the LAMP on Ubuntu 12.04 server. (All commands in this post assumes you have Root privilege, add sudo at beginning if need)
1. LAMP stands for Linux, apache, mysql and php.
I have an internet connection with a public, static IPv4 address (the IP address has a PTR record for foo.org domain, and I own foo.org domain, and have nameservers for it elsewhere, mx record is set to use the static ip). I have an OpenBSD i386 installed on a machine that is the only thing that uses this internet connection.
Hi Folks,
I have a small local network , with few desktops and one server . The server machine has UBUNTU 12.04 server 64 bit installed on it. Some of the desktops are windows , one is Mac and others are ubuntu . What I am trying to accomplish is to create a local DNS server for my network and DNS server would be present on the server machine.
OS1: Ubuntu Server 12.04 (server)
OS2: Windows 7 (network computer)
I'm having a weird problem, and I'm not sure what to do about it. When I reboot the server, then try to SSH into it from another machine on the same network, I get a "connection refused" error.
I'm running windows server 2008 r2 on a dell poweredge 2850. I have 2 NICs, one is configured behind a firewall with a dhcp server on the main local LAN and another one has it's own dedicated connection to one of our 13 static IPs.
So in a nutshell we have 2 of our static IPs going to this server, one indirectly through a firewall/dhcp server, and the other directly.
i've a web server in a DMZ reachable from 2 different public static ip addresses provided by 2 different internet connection by 2 different ISPs.
I want to create a record let's say "myserver.contoso.com" that load balance the two ip in normal situation (round robin).
The main goal however is that the server is still reachable if one internet uplink (so one public static ip) goes down.
What can
I recently changed my internet to a business plan I have a new static ip and I got 2 routers 1 is a trendnet tew 432brp and linksys router switch befsr81 I have two servers running ubuntu 12.04

I have looking through tutorials for setting up Icecast2 server and ices2 on Ubuntu. Unfortunately all of these are based on LAN. I want to set up a Icecast server on a ubuntu machine which will be connected 24/7 to the Internet. The clients need to access the streams, the server provides from across the globe. Assuming the server has a static IP, how do i configure Icecast?
Hi,
I have poweredge 1435SC and I just installed Ubnutu and after a while 5h+ it stops responding. The way I see it i can not SSH to it anymore, i get connection timed out. When I had debian installed I didn't have this problem, so I'm assuming there's a setting of some kind?
