Today I got "automatic update" notice from ubuntu 10.04 but while trying to install it, it failed with the message that requested website (something like http://security.ubuntu....) could not be found. I have never faced such issue. Why is this so and what should I do? There were updates for latest firefox etc.
Hi,
Given 10.3 has just been discontinued, there won't be any more updates. But I can't find how to disable automatic updates... According to the manual, the applet config should offer an "automatically start updater on login" checkbox, but mine doesn't (Gnome).
I couldn't find in Yast either.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I changed the default settings in the "Software Sources". I changed the "download from" from the default mirror servers to servers for the US.
The system crashed when I tried to save the changes.
I am planning to switch from Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 to Opensuse 11.3. I wish to know whether Opensuse 11.3 also has automatic updates which checks for new updates released and also keeps a track of newer version releases of the distro.
