I hope someone can help! I bought a brand new computer (Intel® Pentium(R) CPU G2120 @ 3.10GHz × 2 with Intel® Ivybridge Desktop graphics), running Ubuntu 12.10. The graphics card has both VGA and HDMI output. My problem is that I cannot connect to my Dell monitor with only the HDMI cable. The HDMI cable goes through 'n DVI adapter into the Dell monitor.

I've been using my Zenbook's HDMI port for watching movies on my TV a bit. Everything worked fine, until I wanted to turn off my screen whenever the HDMI cable was plugged in.
I did this in the settings under Screens menu.
Hi. I've banged my head against this one for a few days and I'm about to give up. Any help greatly appreciated.
Fedora 17. Nvidia geforce 210 which has VGA, DVI and HDMI outputs in a Dell Optiplex 755. Using latest nvidia driver (310.19). The VGA port works fine. I can connect the DVI port to a TV and nvidia-settings will show that the TV is detected.

Hi!
I have really strange problem. I bought and connected CS 11 HDMI Y-Splitter to my graphic card (nvidia 450GTS) to multiply HDMI signal. One port is used to show picture on Philips monitor, and other on samsung tv.
Hey guys.
I just tried liking up my Aspire One Netbook which is running Gnome fallback (Ubuntu 12.04) to a View Sonic television, which can also be used as a monitor.
At first I thought HDMI might not support sound, but of course it does as it's the only cable I use to connect to my xbox.
Anyway, I manage to get the screen output on the television but there is no sound.
I just wiped Win7 and installed Ubuntu 12.10 on the laptop that I use as an HTPC. After I got everything set up, I plugged in my HDMI cable and went to Displays to try to turn on HDMI. No luck! Only my laptop is listed when I have HDMI connected.
xrandr doesn't see that the TV is connected. And when I go to Sound, it doesn't show any options for HDMI.
The TV is circa 2009-2010.
I have my Netbook, with #!Waldorf, connected to the TV via HDMI cable.Besides, using the HDMI cable, I needed to connect 2 seperate audio-jack cables to get stereo sound.
