I connect to my beagleboard by using screen:
screen /dev/ttyUSB1 115200
and when I connect to my beaglebone I open the dev/ttyO1 by screen also. Now, I want to close only the last screen connection. But I cannot. When I close the screen session with ctrl+a d, it does not only close the latest screen connection to ttyO1, it also closes the connection to the ttyUSB1,beaglebone.
Sometimes, a terminal screen is messed up, and when we use man ls to read the manpages, or press the UP arrow to go to previous commands in history, the screen will show characters not as the right place. (for example, treat the end of screen as some where in the middle of the screen).
The command reset is tried and it wouldn't work.
First of all, I'm aware a similar question for GNOME is asked here: "Switch off laptop backlight when locking screen".
Objective
I would like to turn off my screen on locking the session for power saving reasons.
Actual problem
Locking the screen on Kubuntu (KDE) inevitably triggers the screensaver as far as I can see.
I use the screen program extensively. It has helped me tremendously by reducing the time spent in setting up session every day. However, now that I have >8 screens - I forget sometimes which screen I am in. Is there a way to find the name of the screen session that I am working in.
I'm looking to switch from screen to tmux for my terminal multiplexing needs, but there's a feature of screen that I need to replicate in tmux: the -X option, which allows one to run arbitrary screen commands inside an existing screen session.
I want to be able to close my laptop without Ubuntu registering it. I've been looking everywhere and I've found plenty of people with the same problem but no real solutions. Obviously I have set the lid close setting to 'do nothing' for both AC and battery, but when I close the lid it still blanks the screen, disconnects from external monitors, and brings up the lock screen when I reopen it.
I have created a multiuser screen session and did 'addacl user1'. Now user1 can join the screen session via command like 'screen -x /screen-name' .
Is it possible to prevent this user (user1) from creating new sessions with 'ctrl+a c' ?
I'm using secureCRT to ssh to Linux based server.
I use "screen" command to keep my sessions alive.
But things are becoming strange when I using two PC, OK, here's the scene:
On PC-A, start a new screen session named "test";
On PC-B, type screen -D -r test
Hopefully, I'd like to see the 'test' session detached on PC-A, and re-attached to PC-B.
That works, but when PC-A got remotely detached by P
Hi
I run UBUNTU with xfce wm. By using xrandr i could define and setup the two screens.
On one screen I have the main XFCE desktop with icons and toolbars etc.
