Ok, am having a weird issue with an older netbook I picked up. The netbook is a Gammatech N1L2. It has an Intel Atom n450 chipset with the Intel N10 graphics card (Pineview). This is were things get a little odd. When loading from a live usb/install Ubuntu detects the proper screen resolution (1024x600) but after install my only two options are 1024x768 and 800x600.
I have a new asus netbook eeepc 1015cx which has the following graphics card
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Atom Processor D2xxx/N2xxx Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
In neither of the versions starting from 11.04 to 12.04 I couldn't able to get the proper screen resolution of 1024X600.
Can anybody help me how to get the proper screen resolution in ubuntu.
I am trying to install Ubuntu on a Asus X58C laptop. Everything is working fine except the screen resolution. I automaticly detects a resolution of 800 * 600, but the resolution I want to use is 1280 * 800.
I can't choose this resolution because this resolution isn't in the list I can choose from.
I am using Ubuntu version 9.10.
How do you change the resolution if the netbook max resolution is 1024x600 into 1024x768 or better. I tried a live Pinguy OS and was able to set the screen resolution into that size.
I've been playing with ubuntu for just a few days and so far i really like it. but i am having a few problems more specifically my screen resolution.
I'm running
11.04 (natty)
kernel linux 2.6.38-14-generic
GNOME 2.32.1
on a Dell dimension 2400 with my on bord graphic card
Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 01).
Hi Community, I own myself a Hercules e-cafe ec-800 (yes, I know, lame duck) which I use for text processing and surfing (in spite of the bad performance). I did install UNR 9.10 because of the fantastic desktop. Screen resolution is 800 x 600, nearly ok, but I would like to switch to 1024 x 600, because that's exactly the fitting screen for that netbook.
I have an HP G4-1387 which has two graphics cards, an ATI 7450M and Intel HD3000.
I tried to install Ubuntu and run it from my USB stick, I get the usual black, console like screen showing a lot of things in an small resolution, then the screen adjust the resolution and then it is suppose to start Ubuntu or installation but instead I get a black screen forever.
It's been a while since I've used Ubuntu, and back then I was running an old Gateway MX3215 with a piece of junk UniChrome card. This time I'm running an Intel GMA X3100, so I still don't have a great graphics card.
