So I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04, and the screen resolution on the login screen is off. It is way to big for my monitor. I have a 21 inch monitor. The resolution is at 1600 by 1200 or whatever it is. It's to big, haha.
How do I turn down the resolution for the login window?
Thanks for the help.
Thanks in advance for any help. Ubuntu 12.04
Up until recently my mother has been using the Guest Session when she logs on; now, the Guest Session will not login.
I have written an article about how to customize the Ubuntu login screen. After you edit the login screen, you may want to share your work on blogs and forums. However, you simply cannot just press the print-screen button to take screenshot of the login screen in Ubuntu. To do so, you can use a workaround command to preview the login screen and take screenshot of it.
It' weird but my login screen on this laptop with arch always loads up at a lower resolution (larger font) then after like one second the screen refreshes into a higher res login. Didn't really know where to search for this issue, does anyone have any idea why it does that?
I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed but the login screen resolution is to high. How do I turn it down to 1280x1024? Which is my desktop res.

Login screen won’t accept my password
My computer crashed earlier this evening, I think it was somewhat overheated and shut itself down.
After this, I can no longer log into Ubuntu.
Today I wanted to start my laptop but it didn't work.
I see the login menu, I can login, but then by screen turns black and I am back at the login menu.
Same for login as guest.
I pressed CTRL+ALT+F2 to login per console, it worked but I can't do anything. No commands are available. All commands giving this output:
/bin is not included in the PATH enviroment variable
Any Ideas?
Good afternoon,
I recently updated my 10.04 release and then had a problem with the graphics card so I updated a little more and now have 12.04 which I'm fine with except that when I get to the login screen I can login as a guest and a secondary accout I have, but not as the main, administrator account.
I recently installed Solaris 10 as a VM. I was using the JDS and shut down the vm when I left the office. When I rebooted today I login in at the desktop login screen and press ok but I am reverted to the console screen for a spilt second and then back to the login screen. I log in as root and my password is correct because I am not met with an incorrect login error.
