[ubuntu] Screen freezes

view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, I have an asus laptop with and Nvidia geForce G105m cuda 512mb graphics card. I dual boot Vista/Ubuntuu 9.10, and I have ran into some problems with my graphics card I think. Whenever I start up my computer, the screen will get stuck after a while. The time before it gets stuck will vary greatly, as in from 30s to 20min, but it will get stuck. On ubuntu I cannot ctrl-alt-backspace, alt-ctrl-F1 or Alt-sysreq-k, but Alt-sysreq-b seems tot work. After a reboot the problem does not occur again, until I completely shut down my computer and start it again. The same problem occurs on vista, only I have less specifications on that issue as I do not use it as often anymore... Any ideas? I hope it's not a hardware corruption since it happens on vista and ubuntu, but I am at a loss otherwise. I'm not sure what my current driver is, but I do think I have tried installing multiple others. Thanks (Hardware)
