I have a kvm-switch (keyboard, video, mouse) to switch between my 2 computers.
One runs on Ubuntu(latest version), the other on windows 7.
When i switch from one computer to the other, my display is not correct.
Installed Ubuntu 12.04 64bit today, switched to Gnome Classic (no effects) and there is one thing that makes me crazy: I can't assign Super+L to Lock Screen function!
I go to System Settings -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> System, then I click on Lock Screen and press "Super + L", it appears in the list but when I press it again it doesn't work.
If I set it back to Ctrl+Alt+L it works again.
I'm running 9.10 on an Asus Eee PC 1101 HAB. Periodically, the screen will glitch (normally just becoming a jumble) and the only way fix is to reboot the system. I looked at the display settings and it's showing an unknown display, but I'm not sure where to find drivers for this model. Has anyone else run into this problem or know a fix? Thanks.
I have recently installed Kubuntu 12.04 on my desktop. The bootup works fine and there are no issues with the screen resolution or any other video related activity. But while the system is being used, the display gets reset (i.e. the screen becomes black and then comes back) and from then on the display gets into an issue.
Hello fellow Ubuntu users,
Ubuntu 12.04 64bit fresh installed on my laptop. Everything is working fine, no fatal errors and so forth.
The shortcut problems I have is that I just can't set them like I used to be able to in Lucid.
I recently downloaded jupiter on ubuntu 12.04 ASUS U36JC and I noticed that my display would switch from clone to exterior to clone everytime that I used the keys that control the volume. Hit "function volume down" and the screen goes blank, hit "function volume up" and the display come back.
Having a Samsung N230 Storm netbook runnning ubuntu 12.04
As I want to use only external devices (VGA Display, USB Keyboard, USB Mouse) and have the netbook acting as a "desktop" most of the time, I have the display closed.
When hitting the "On button" (even so its more a switch that I have to move slightly) nothing happens. The system is not powering up.
How do I change the display screen to an external monitor?
I have an IBM ThinkPad X4 UltraBase laptop. It's elderly, but useful, works fine.
It has a video port on the back. The BIOS Video settings are: Internal / PCI. I have changed them to no apparent effect.
Hello,
I've recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 32bit on my laptop. I use a 2nd monitor connected to my laptop and after installing & updating Ubuntu for the first time, I went to display settings to set the monitor as the main display and deactivated the laptop screen display.
