[ubuntu] Samsung LED 7100 Series with Ubuntu

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have the samsung LED 7100, and I can't figure out how to connect it to ubuntu. Is there a easy fix for this. Sorry for the lame question. The way it is supposed to work is I share one or multiple folders that are shared and I can browse them trough the tv since it is connected to my network via hard wire. In windows I do that in 1 minute, but I love Ubuntu so much better when it comes to anything else. (HowTos)

First off I can see my windows network through the ubuntu pc but I cannot see the shared files on the w/7 laptop on my Network. How do i set up the ubuntu machine to share folders? I get the shared folders option to become active but still get the "cant mount" message box.

I ask this question in SuperUser but no one helps me. I hope to get more attention here.

I am a total newbie to Ubuntu. I downloaded and installed ubuntu 11.10 The install went well and I was able to share folders back and forth between windows and ubuntu. However, the ubuntu box froze and after a reboot would not bring me back to the ubuntu desktop, all it gave me was a blank screen after reboot with no GRUB either. So I decided to repartition and reinstall.

[ubuntu] Samba/Network Issues 23 weeks 3 days ago

A Tale of Two Laptops: I have an Acer notebook running Linux Mint with Samba. I also have a HP dv6 that dual boots Win7 and Ubuntu 12.04. On the HP, while in Windows, the network is doing just fine, I can see all the folders that are marked to share. The issue is when I am in 12.04.

So I have a Samsung Series 3:

samsung series 3 np365e5c-S03US

And I want to install Ubuntu, but I'm worried about the UEFI bug that the kernel has where other Series laptops have been bricking after. Anyone have this particular kind of laptop and know if it works or if I should wait til 13.04 for the new kernel?

i have a computer running ubuntu 8.04 that i want to use as a file server. i have an external hard drive connected to it and i would like to share it with both my macbook and a windows pc. i can put stuff in the shared folder and share it but if i try to share a different folder the other computers will ask me a password that i dont know. i would rather have the whole drive shared.
