[ubuntu] Samba sharing broken since quantal upgrade

http://ubuntuforums.org – I had a simple samba sharing setup between my 2 ubuntu computers (yea, i should use nfs, but whatever) I just did the basic nautilus right click and share, and everything was fine. But now i upgraded to quantal (and didnt change anything else), and it doesnt work anymore. I can see the shared folders just fine, but attempting to open them gives the error "Unable to mount location, Failed to mount windows share" Did something change in quantal that is causing this and how do i fix it? (Hardware)

When I try to mount a home directory from a Samba File server (FC15), I keep getting a message from Nautilus (on my FC17 machine):

"Unable to mount location: Failed to mount Windows Share"

I can mount other Samba shares with no problems. I do have SELinux disabled. My firewall is allowing Port 139.

Hi, I just set up an ubuntu 9.10 server (no desktop environment, command line only) and I'm unable to see my samba share.

Here are the relevant parts of my smb.conf file:

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 running Ubuntu v10.04 with a wireless card. My desktop is a Dell Optiflex running WinXP. The desktop is connected via ethernet cable to a Linksys wireless router. Certain folders on the desktop are set for sharing. Up until early last week I was able to access the desktop folders from the laptop with no issues.

I have a Synology NAS with a "Windows" share configured. When I click "Browse Network" => "Windows Network" in Nautilus, all I get is:

"Unable to mount location

Failed to retrieve share list from server "

Note: This has worked 100% fine before, and I HAVEN'T CHANGED ANYTHING.

Any ideas?

Perhaps someone can help me through some of these issues...

I am using Ubuntu 11.04, and i have two main partitions which is

1. File system - ext3 2. Bk - ext2 (my backup partition)

The problem is when i try to share a folder(name D13) at my Backup partition, it failed. This is what i have done: 1. mounted partition bk 2.

If I take nautilus and browse to a samba network share, it mounts fine, using gvfs-smb. When I try to copy a large folder, like 6GB, it starts copying fine but eventually hangs at some point and doesn't continue. Sometimes at 1GB sometimes at 5GB or even at 100MB. No log messages in the journal or dmesg, nothing's crashed.
