I have VLC player installed on my Ubuntu 11.10.
Default Music and Video application was Media Player.
My goal was to change default for VLC Player.
From System Settings -> System Info -> Default Application I change default to VLC Player for Music and Video. I rebooted the system but when I start any e.g. video file it still opens it with the former default app i.e.
Hi. I have an android tablet (zt z102) running 4.0.3. I cant change the default video player from "video player" to something else. It is not listed in the applications list in settings, and yes i have selected the "all" tab. I use File Browser to open my files as i am playing videos of a usb, And there is no option to change default program within it.
Till now, Ubuntu 13.10 was working like a charm. But, all of a sudden, my vlc / gnome-player / default video player of Ubuntu won't start at all.
I did restarted it twice but, nothing works. Only default player gives asked to forcedly quit the application and all the other video player just simply crashes.

the text is not subtitles and its live text that moves from side to side (html script)

the video should play playlist and support fullscreen
im building some kind of service that syncing videos from my server to that ubuntu..
right now im using the default movie player that comes with the ubuntu but i dont know how to make that h
I installed the proprietary nvidia driver through the hardware drivers GUI, now my c840 Dell laptop screen won't boot up. It just remains blanc. I want to restore the driver to the default open-source one which worked.
