I've been having a battery issue of sorts, and this seemed like the best place to ask for help. About 2 months ago, I bought a 12000 mAh high capacity battery for my EeePC from an Amazon vendor. At first it seemed like it was having issues with shutting off with a good charge left (like 40%), but then the problem seemed to go away.

My laptop lasts 1m30s after unplugging from AC power. It then throws itself into a seizure and shuts down.
It says my battery is down to 30% capacity and that it may be old or broken, too.
Just wondering, before I spend any money on a new battery, is this any kind of known glitch with switching out Vista for Ubuntu?
I noticed that my main battery has a 56% capacity. It's Li-Ion chemistry.
Is there any trick to improve this capacity? I am pretty sure this model of battery isn't in production any more, it's a 4 year old computer.
I've just installed a big fat battery on my Asus Eeepc 8G; it has a capacity of 10,400mAh. XFCE4 Power Manager Information reports that the battery capacity is 5,200mAh.I tried looking at the preferences and the BIOS settings, yet I can't find out how to get Power Manager to recognize the larger battery.
I have been using Ubuntu 11.04 on DELL Inspiron 14R (N5010) laptop for last three months. Before I switch to ubuntu my laptop battery used to give 2.5 hrs to 3 hrs back-up.
I recently bought a MSI-X370 laptop with ATI graphics and wiped Windows and replaced with Ubuntu 12.04.
Now, up until my upgrade from beta 2 to the first stable Ubuntu 12.04 release, I didn't have problems with this.
I'm having an issue in which I have installed a new battery that will not charge to it's full capacity. I'm looking for a manner to change some setting in which Ubuntu will allow a full charge.
I just bought a new 8800 mAh battery for my VAIO PCG-7N2L laptop, but it's not recognized by ubuntu and won't boot while the battery is actually attached. I had to replace it because the 4800mAh battery crapped out on me.
