http://ubuntuforums.org – I scanned the Forum but I did not see anything that talks to the issue of reinstalling a Ubuntu partition using Wubi. I used Wubi to install a partition on a Windows 7 system under. It worked great until my disk crashed. I had ROS installed on the partition and some other code. The data was recovered into an ubuntu directory in a temporary directory. Under the temporary directory is ubuntu>disks>root.disk which is the size of the partition that I asked Wubi to create. What do I need to do to be able to boot into Windows or into Ubuntu? If I get it reinstalled, what is the best wa (Hardware)

I am in a very strange situation and need some help: I installed Ubuntu 11.10 through Wubi a while back so that I can use it alongside Windows 7. I was running out of space on my disk when trying to install applications.

Hi. I'm using a self-built computer running Windows 7 on a 128GB SSD, and I also have a 1TB HDD for storage. Recently, I installed Ubuntu on a 24 GB partition on the storage drive using Wubi. I then made the mistake of deleting the Ubuntu and Wubi folders off of the Windows partition.

I had installed ubuntu in Win OS under different partition (E:) and then formatted my windows (C:), now I am not able to see the ubuntu partition (E:) and not getting the option of ubuntu OS whn PC boots up.

Kindly assist me to recover my partition (E:) and give me the steps as in what is to be done before installing the ubuntu so that it can be recovered easily next time.

Hi all, i want install Ubuntu but i have a HP Laptop that have 4 partitions by default C, HP_TOOLS, RECOVERY and SYSTEM, so i cant make another 2 partition, just one more (for data sharing win-ubuntu).

When I first got my computer I made a disk image of the windows partition using a ubuntu disk to do a live boot without installing (and then just installed partimage with apt-get). Unfortunately, I am no longer able to boot with my CDROM drive, so I am wondering if it would be possible to install Wubi and then have it restore the windows image?

I am using Wubi to install Ubuntu 12.04 on my windows partition, then I decided to migrate the Wubi install to a partition. I followed the steps on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MigrateWubi, it was done correctly and I'm happy of the result.

The problem now is, my windows doesn't show up in boot loader - which means, I can't boot into windows. How do I resolve this?

I know this question has been asked, but I am looking for specific help with my partition selection.

I want to migrate my install from wubi to be a dual boot. When I installed it I choose a small, partition, around 30GB. I am following these instructions: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MigrateWubi I see sda4 matches that size, but has mount point as '/host', am I okay to use this one?

The move from Win7 to Ubuntu 12.04 has been honestly awesome. But I've come into a snag because my Win7 inevitably broke.

I can still boot into Ubuntu even though Win7 is broken (won't boot, can't repair).
