xvidcap doesn't record sound at all. I have tried many ways. If I try as: 'padsp xvidcap', it also gives error, like: /dev/dsp cannot found or missing. I have changed it to /dev/snd.

Ok, I'm looking for a decent scream recorder for Ubuntu. I've tried GTKRecordMyDesktop, VLC and istanbul. They work, the problem is that they stall my machine so much that it doesn't function enough to actually record anything. I don't believe it's a hardware issue as I have a good graphics card and 12gigs of ram. Anyone have any ideas?
Currently there is an interesting screen recorder software for Linux. This is DemoRecorder. Even this software is not free, but I think its good to have if you need a more professional screen recorder that run in most Linux system. The installation is also very easy, they already provided .rpm and .deb binary files.
