[ubuntu] raid configuration in ubunut 12.04 lts

I cannot install 11.3 on a machine with an intel raid controller I have tried with raid 1 using the card and then setting the disks to individual raid 0 and letting suse raid them. With the card doing it the machines crashes as soon as it tries to boot the first time, with suse doing the raid I just get 'GRUB' on the screen

i can't install ubuntu 12.04 server on server in subject. I've created raid array from MegaRaid utility as RAID 1 but when i've tried to install into hard disk ubuntu doesn't detect any drive. Why?

raid controller is Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family SATA RAID Controller

I am trying to install open SuSE 11.x (x=0-2) on a PC with an S5000XVN motherboard and "Intel embedded RAID server technology II". The RAID consists of two 250 GB SATA drives. Installation has failed so far, and from the error messages I assume that the driver for the RAID system is missing.

I have Dell Poweredge T100 server with Dell SAS 6 and two hard disk on RAID 1.

Last week the server died including one RAID 1 hard disk. We sent the server for repair and the problem with PSU was fixed.

I am working on decommissioning an old server for a client. The server is an older Dell PowerEdge 1600sc with four SCSI drives. Two are stand-alone, and the other two are in RAIDx (not sure the actual RAID id). It does not have an integrated RAID controller (nothing under integrated devices in the BIOS related to RAID), the client has a PowerEdge Expandable RAID controller PCI card for that.

I've an HP DL380 G6 server, SAS hot swappable hdds connected with Smart Array P212 raid controller. I've configured RAID5 and installing RHEL 4.4 in the server. But its not detecting the hdds, i m suspecting that the OS doesn't have the driver for raid controller. I've downloaded the driver disk for the above controller from HP's site.
