Hi everyone,
I just spent 2 days getting CommandIR III mini working with my Mythbuntu 9.10 , and two ROGERS CABLE issued
Cisco DTA150 devices (digital to analog converter) which each connect to an analog video tuner (recording) card
that I use to record TV shows.
I have a front end which connects to a separate backend.
Hey all,
I have been a user of W7 MCE for quite a bit now, and I want to shift to Mythbuntu. I have Limited experience with the setup process. Mythbuntu is installed on my ,machine and I have read the Hauppague HVR 1600, wiki, but it is like another language to me. Does someone have am easy to understand method for setting up two HVR 1600 cards for Mythbuntu for a complete newbie like me?
Can anyone recommend an off the shelf Mythbuntu ready system? Or as close to off the shelf as possible?
What I've got in mind is something that:
Runs very cool and quiet (lounge use. some atom based job?
I have been having some strange problems trying to install Mythbuntu on a new HTPC set up. I am usually pretty good with a bit of trouble shooting & have used Linux exclusivly since going cold turkey on Windows about 4 years ago. However this situation really has got me beat.
I am trying to install Mythbuntu from a CD onto my new hardware configuration.
I tried to solve this with a fresh install of Mythbuntu 12.04, (with Mythtv 0.25), but no luck, so here goes the problem.
I have an esata drive that is mounted at boot to /media/stuff

Hello, all. Thanks in advance to any and all who reply.
I am thinking seriously of building a Mythbuntu box.
I live in the US.
I have digital cable.
I have a set-top box. (It's a Samsung SMT-H3050.)
I need to know the following information:
1. I am considering the following three Hauppauge tuner cards: the 1250, 1600, and 1800.
I'm totally new to MythTV and DIY PVR systems, but comfortable with Linux (not an expert). I have a fresh installation of Mythbuntu 12.04.1 (32-bit) and I just installed my Hauppauge WinTV HVR-2250 TV tuner card into the computer. How do I get it detected and set up in MythTV?
P.S. - This machine will serve as a backend for the XBMC clients I have set up throughout my house.
I read somewhere that MythBuntu can also be used as a desktop environment on Ubuntu 11.10. But i can't find that website. Would "sudo apt-get install mythbuntu" work?
