so I decided to install #! on my desktop, now that i got my laptop squared away. I had ubuntu 12.04 dual boot with win7. I deleted the ubuntu partition with the windows disk management utility (as i dont know any other way to uninstall linux... seems a little hacky to me) and then rebooted using the win7 install cd to run bootrec.exe /fixmbr, then bootrec.exe /fixboot.

Hello everyone.
Ok, I attempted a fresh Ubuntu install as I was having some internal system errors. When a simple "re-installation" didn't fix anything, I performed a "delete Ubuntu 13.04 and reinstall" from the boot USB.
That's when it all began. First I had a grub problem, where all I got at boot was the Grub Recovery. So I booted my windows recovery and repaired it.
Hi there!
I am attempting to dual boot Windows HPC Server 2008 on my existing Linux(Ubuntu) HPC machine. I know that Windows will wipe the MBR and I have the Ubuntu LiveCD to restore GRUB when that happens, but I am having some trouble with my disk partitions.
As of right now, when I boot into the Windows installation, it shows no disks available to install onto.

I can boot to ubuntu but windows 8 will not boot and I just get the Invalid EFI file path" error. (I think Bug #1024383) As the instructions said I booted to live usb again and ran disk-repair (paste.ubuntu/1406514).
**Windows 7 Professional**
**Ubuntu 12.10**
While trying to set up dual boot, I chose the first option in the Ubunutu by accident that said "Replace Windows 7".
