The wireless works fine with all the other wi-fi nets I have tried, the only problem is with this hidden network.
I've changed nothing in my setup, yet my computer has recently behaved oddly in two ways:-- I can no longer connect to my WPA2 network via the same wicd settings-- This afternoon after having internet on Win7 during an all-day class, I rebooted into Arch and wicd-client couldn't see any networks at all (no matter how many refreshes/disconnect alls)I'll let the second issue go for no
I have performed a WUBI installation of 12.04 on my HP G62 laptop, which has an Atheros AR9285 wireless chipset. Everything works fine with my wired network connection.
However, wireless is unable to connect to my wifi network. I enter the WPA2 key and then it attempts to connect, but eventually comes back, asking for the WPA2 key again, as if it was not good.
Running Maverick 64-bit. I previously had my wireless network set to WEP encryption, and when I'd start my laptop it would automatically connect to the network (with a hidden SSID) and everything was great. In order to use my work laptop at home, I had to change to WPA2 encryption.
Hi, I want to install Ubuntu, I have installed it before, and there is no WPA2 support. It can detect my wifi network, but it won't let me click it. If I try to add it manually, it will freeze up at the enter encryption key dialog, and I won't be able to type it in, because there is nowhere to type it in!
Hi all,
I have a Ralink wireless USB device. Running driver 2870. Don't know how else to identify the device. It is from the C.Crane Super USB WiFi Antenna 3.
I am connected to a far away network with WPA Personal encryption using TKIP.
I am trying to connect to a different network which also uses WPA encryption. It happens to be closer. It doesn't work.
Hi, first time post but have been lurking on the forums for about a couple of months now and its a WEALTH of information. For that, thank you all.
Im running BT5R2 Ubuntu 10.04 gnome 64 on samsung series 5, and wicd will connect to WPA/WPA2 and even open networks...however it wont with WEP. My home WPA network is no problem and so are open networks.
Using Ubuntu 13.04 I can't connect to my school network.
It is secured with WPA & WPA2 Enterprise and I have to enter my username and password school provided.
This does work on Windows 7, and it has worked with Xubuntu 12.10 in the past, but now it just won't connect.
