On a new Asus X54C WIN7 laptop I am trying to install 12.10 desktop 64 bit. In the documentation ( http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/...desktop-latest ) step 4 'Allocate drive space' (installation type box) the first option is 'Install Ubuntu alongside Windows 7'.

I choose alongside with Windows 7 and then it the computer restarts and Windows 7 runs without Ubuntu being installed! I tried this installation several times and every time I get the same problem. How can I fix this problem and get Ubuntu to install?
The first thing I did was pop in the Ubuntu CD while in Windows. It only gave me the option 'Demo and full installation' instead of 'Install Ubuntu alongside Windows' like it has in the past. Then, I restarted my computer with the disc still in the drive, and booted into the LiveCD environment.
