For some reason. any driver i'm installing customary, like Virtual Sound Card drivers, do not initialize after reboot.
I tried virtual sound card drivers, they initialize fine when installing, but after reboot i cant see the device in sound devices.
I'm running Windows 7 inside Virtualbox on Ubuntu 11.10. Everything works fine. I'm running it at startup, but I have a problem with rebooting.
When I type sudo reboot now the state of the virtual Windows 7 isn't saved.
Hi all,
I've tried several times today to install 12.10 server (x64) on a spare box using both the default and expert install, but seem to run up against the same problem.
When I reboot after completing the install I get this error on booting "Reboot and select proper boot device".
I have installed wubi before, and in my previous laptop i had no problem installing it. NOw I switched to a new laptop(cause the prev one got broken), I cant seem to make it work.
I run wubi.exe and then it started installing, after that it asks for reboot right? to be able to successfully install wubi.
I am having a really nasty problem with VirtualBox as everytime I try to install any guest OS(using ISO file as CD for installation media), the installation starts normally but as soon as it is about to start either installing to virtual hard drive or loading(e.g. as LiveFS) it causes the host system to reboot abruptly.
I have Ubuntu 12.04. I removed rhythmbox player and when installing banshee media player due to overheating my laptop did an auto-shutdown (It was instant shutdown). After reboot, I went to software center, removed banshee and installed it again. And it doesn't want to start anymore. I've removed it again, installed it again same result. What should I do? Thanks!
Hi
I'm running VirtualBox 3.0.12. I have it set the way I want it with XP available when I have no other choice. BUT...
Ubuntu 12.10 on Lenovo x230 Tablet I5 intel. Very new system, and older retail box DVD of Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
So far I have downloaded Virtual Box from the Ubuntu Software center and then started installing it via Gui. Windows starts its install process but stops during the unpacking process. I left it for 3 hours and it stayed unpacking.
Hi Ubuntu members,
I am an ubuntu newbie and this is the first time i am attempting to switch from windows to ubuntu. I own a fujitsu q550 and due to frustration from the slowness of windows 7 in it, i attempted to install ubuntu 12.10 in it using a USB stick. Was pleasantly surprised that it recognised the touch screen and stylus right away and proceeded to install.
