I am attempting to set up an email server using Postfix and Dovecot. Both services are starting fine, but when I log into Squirrelmail to send a test email it won't send, and the response from server error is blank. I tried setting up Thunderbird for the test account, and Thunderbird could not detect the server settings, so I tried to put them in manually, and it still wouldn't work.
I am setting up a mail server: Dovecot and Postfix with MySQL support and Postfixadmin. Spend literally all day trying to figure it out, but I'm still unable to neither send nor receive any emails.
To my knowledge, I have configured everything correctly, so either there is another problem, or my knowledge isn't good enough.
I am trying to setup a postfix server which supports SASL authentication with dovecot.
I need some help again with the mail server setup. I have managed to get the server to send email from the website, but I would like to setup some mail accounts to receive mail too.
I'm using Webmin, Dovecot, Postfix and Squirrelmail.
I have an Ec2 instance on amazon AWS. i have installed , dovecot, postfix on server, mail incoming mail server is IMAP mail.xxxx.com .
I am able to configure my mails with gmail, outlook etc, using the IMAP. and can send and receive emails, The problem is that i want to send emails through PHP code using my mail server.
Hello,
I have an Ubuntu 11.10 64bit email server (a virtual machine hosted on a windows server 2008 computer using Hyper-V) configured so far with dovecot and postfix.
I am busy setting up sendmail server on my linux ubuntu server for the first time. I've setup sendmail and dovecot using some nice you tube guides. Thus far everything seems to be in good order.
I have just outfitted a basic server (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS /Precise Pangolin) and have installed Postfix and Dovecot, based on the Ubuntu manuals.

Postfix gets mail out of the box to my gmail account, e.g.:
sendmail [redacted]@gmail.com < /etc/motd
