Is there a good tool to monitor my VPS? I'd like to see CPU and RAM usage with daily and hourly charts. I wonder, is there a command that I can run in linux that will show such information instead of installing a monitoring software? I read about Cacti but I don't want to add more stuff that will consume my resources know what i mean?
Thank you for your advises!
I'm trying to download bandwidth D with no success. I simply downloaded the .deb file and the Ubu Software Center tells me to run it through my normal installation channels.
I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction of a Virtualmin plugin or script that will allow me to actively monitor INCOMING bandwidth usage on a per virtual server basis.
The built in System Settings > Bandwidth Monitoring combines the IN/OUT Bandwidth usage but I am unable to see just the IN usage breakdown.
Any ideas?
I'ved look on google for something and I apologize for posting this but I haven't found anything that suites my needs...
I need a program that can monitor a specific computer's bandwidth, how much bandwidth that program is using, and (as a bonus, don't really need this) the port number the application is using.
I need it to be able to monitor one computer and provide lots of detail on that one c
Till recently, I assumed that Microsoft NLB worked at an OS/Machine level rather than an Application Level. i.e. the NLB just monitors heartbeats on the machine to check if machine is alive and then switches off a particular node if it's gone down.
However, I found this comment on a server fault question which claims differently.
hi,
I would like to setup an ssh connection to my laptop at home which runs ubuntu 9.10
what I did was:
- install openssh-server
- configure my router to port-forward external port 22 to internal static ip of the laptop with the same port.
but when I try to ssh to the public ip, there is a timeout. Can someone give me some tips?
I have a HP ProCurve switch with 24 ports.
If I set up port 24 to mirror port 1 (which goes to my router), can I use port 24 for normal LAN access as well as to run something like ntop or bandwidthd?
Or does mirroring mean that the port can only be used to read the mirrored packets? MEaning a 2nd NIC is required for LAN access?
Download Monitor is a bandwidth meter. You can easily monitor your network usages/downloads on hourly/daily/monthly basis.
