There are no options here to select sound themes or anything like that.
This plays sounds and I can listen to music, youtube..
Hi Guys,
I am running the latest version Ubuntu and I have installed a new sound card. Its a Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio. After the install I rebooted and everything worked perfectly.
Using 11.3 x86_64, when I play music off of any audio CD, there is a 'hiccup' or 'stutter' in the audio every few seconds while playback continues. This stutter sounds like the sound is just dropping out, or the playback is pausing, very briefly. This problem happens every time using Amarok, KsCD, Kaffeine. Files in various formats playback smoothly from an external hard drive.
Hello everybody,
I've been running F12 x86_64 for almost a week now without significant issues, until now. I found this annoying problem with the audio system during video playback (both with VLC and with Kaffeine).
Hello, completely new to Ubuntu and Linux and I'm having issues with my sound.
I've done everything detailed here: http://www.unixmen.com/2012003-howto...lem-on-ubuntu/
I've installed the codecs package.
I've installed pulse audio controls.
And yes, I've made sure it's not muted anywhere.
But, sound -does- work -sometimes-.
Sorry if terminology is incorrect as Im used to a windows enviroment.
My 5.1 surround sound was working well and great quality. Ubuntu 9.10 picked up the sound card right out of the box and so I had no issues with the install.
Sorry for bothering everyone, but I have a Compaq CQ61 where the sound does not work. I can go to PulseAudio volume control and it shows a bar that it's recieving sound feedback from YouTube, but I can't hear anything. System sounds don't work, music doesn't work, and nothing comes out of the speakers or headphones.
Update manager updated a few libs recently (can't remember which ones, but it was definitely not linux headers). Then, after reboot the sound stopped working. The song in rhythmbox would go on playing visually and there is no indication in Sound Preferences that the hardware is not working properly. Yet no sound is coming out of speakers.
Since i have got my laptop ( Dell - Latitude E6510 ) back from grantee ( which they change its motherboard ) My laptop worked fine for couple days ...
