[ubuntu] Openvpn strange routing issue

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have setup openvpn on the server using ubuntu 9.04 and my client can connect but with issues. His network is very little and consisting of 7 computers including his POS system and his own computer. His network also has 5 IP cameras. His internal network is a 10.255.1.X. The VPN network is setup to 10.255.2.X. His POS IP range is 10.255.1.1 through 10.255.1.6 and his IP cameras are 10.255.1.160 through 10.255.1.164. When connecting through the VPN, I can ping the cameras perfectly fine but I cannot connect to them. I cant ping the gateway which is 10.255.1.200(Netgear FVS318 Firewall) or any (HowTos)

The server and client can ping themselves but not each other. I have OpenVPN running on Windows 2008 Server and Windows 7. The computers connect just fine, the server gets 10.8.0.1 with a gateway of 10.8.0.2 and the client gets 10.8.0.10 with a gateway of 10.8.0.9. It's in tunnel mode.

I have an OpenVPN server and I can connect to it just fine but I can not communicate with any other hosts on the network including the server. I can't ping from the server to an OpenVPN client, I can't ping from an OpenVPN client to the OpenVPN server, I can't ping from OpenVPN client to OpenVPN client or from OpenVPN client to normal LAN host and vise-versa.

I have an issue with my openvpn server.

I set up an OpenVPN server using Ubuntu and a windows server 2003 client to interconnect two networks between two different offices. They can now ping each other, but the rest of the network cannot be contacted by the windows client.

I posted this to the openvpn forums, but I haven't gotten any response back, so I figured I'd give this forum a try.

OS1: Ubuntu Server 12.04 (server) OS2: Windows 7 (network computer)

I'm having a weird problem, and I'm not sure what to do about it. When I reboot the server, then try to SSH into it from another machine on the same network, I get a "connection refused" error.

We run Pfsense as our primary firewall. We also have OpenVPN server running on that box to allow us to remotely connect to our network. My question is: if we have a customer's mostly unattended server that we want to access remotely, what security vulnerabilities are there to installing openvpn on the customer's server as a client connecting to our network.

i'm currently building a s2s VPN using 2 pfsense appliances (2.0.2).

Is there anyway you can configure either OpenVPN client or the system to allow connections using OpenVPN to be made to computers on the OpenVPN network using their alias rather than their IP address. This may sound blasphemous but you can in Windows.
