I'm running FC11, attempting to record from vinyl.
At first I heard no sound so I installed gst-mixer and unmuted "aux" and now I can hear the record playing thru the speakers attached to the sound card.
When I attempt to record the sound using audacity I get silence.
I'm trying to run Starcraft through Wine. The sound is all distorted, as if it were playing underwater. Then, about 10 minutes into the game the sound is perfect for 1-2 seconds. Then, there's no sound at all.
I have another sound issue which might give a hint. If I'm playing a video on YouTube, and I open vlc to play a movie, the movie will have no sound.

I'm trying to record on F17 using gtk-recordmydesktop and I'm having zero luck getting sound to record.
The video records just fine but no dice on the sound.
How do you set gtk-mydesktop to record sound in F17?
Hello
I just installed Ubuntu 13.04 and am using the gnome 3 desktop.
when I try to open it on vlc player I get a dialog box
No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "h264".
im unable to record sound using this app. the check box is checked for the sound, it just doesnt record sound. idk what to do.
i have ubuntu 12.04 64bit.
plus nvidia drivers dont work what so ever. so im just using the default ubuntu drivers.
i looked up the site for this app.
I love this video recording software. It's the best I've seen for Ubuntu. I seem to be confused though, I record videos perfectly, with great sound playback, and excellent video quality. The only thing I don't like is that when I view the video, not only on my computer and on YouTube, the video and sound aren't synced. As in like the video part goes faster than the sound does.
I have played around with the camera some on my Note but not the video. Last night I was trying to capture video of my cat for the vet. Over the course of the evening I recorded several short recordings and upon playing them back this AM with the sound turned on I noticed a really unusual sound in the background every time I moved the tablet even just a little.
I was watching some MP4 videos, and at some point between two video's, I lost sound. When I started the next video and noticed that I did not have sound for it, I imediately checked my volume and sound settings for the program I was using. I then Checked master volume settings for Ubuntu. So far everything was good. I decided to open the video in VLC, still no sound.
