I don't really want a windows mobile phone, but I kind of have to for work. *sigh*
Anyways, at the moment I have iPhone 4, which as everyone should know, is extremely closed source. So no iTunes, no management of my music. However I am curious, Is the Nokia Lumina 920 a phone that I can easily manage my music on Ubuntu?
Have owned a Samsung Galaxy, was not impressed by the hardware quality.
Actually I am a die hard fan of the Nokia hardware, my three year old E71 never fails.
Would like to upgrade to a new Nokia, but never in my life will it be to a Windoze phone.
Is there any chance of getting ubuntu running on recent Nokia phones ??
If FirefoxOS is possible, then also ubuntu ?

I have an Android phone which I use as a music player, and I use Banshee to manage the music on my computer. I can copy music fairly easily from Banshee to the phone, I can even copy the music (MP3s) contained in a playlist.
What I would like to do is copy the playlist itself, but that is apparently not so straightforward.
Samsung has announced that it has partnered up with Mushroom Media to bring the Easy Phone Sync app to their Galaxy line of smartphones and tablets. The name itself is pretty straight forward in what it offers for the user. Easy Phone Sync allows you to easily transfer content via a USB cable straight to your phone or tablet.
So my friends brought over some Shrooms. We made tea out of them and within 15 minutes I was undergoing a psychedelic experience. It made my pupils dilate so big. So my friend and I started to play with our phones. He had the Nokia Lumina 900 and me the Note 1. The psychedelic felling is overwhelming it accentuates everything.
I'm using ubuntu 12.04 and I have a first generation iphone,16Gb. The iphone is jailbroken.
Under 10.04, I was able to transfer music onto the phone. I used banshee.
Under 12.04, ubuntu can see the iphone and it's file system. But can't transfer music.
If I just plug the iphone in, rhythymbox can't see the iphone.
I'm going switch from my iphone 3gs to a samsung galaxy siii soon, and I was wondering what some of the important differences in using the os in general are. I using my phone as my mp3 player, and right now itunes manages my music, apps and ebooks. I already have songbird on my pc, but now I realize that it does not manage apps and ebooks.
Hi,
so i recently upgraded to the Galaxy Reverb from an Optimus V. With the optimus, transferring my iTunes music to my SD card was easy. I just dragged and dropped.
I tried this with my Galaxy Reverb and so far my music is hidden from my music player. I can go into the 'my files' folder, see the iTunes music and even play it! (play it from the pre-installed music players...
CEO Stephen Elop continues to bet Nokia (NYSE: NOK) on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8. Some skeptics are losing faith in Elop and Nokia, which has imploded while Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Android smartphone sales soar.
