Hello,
I have a Dell XPS 420 with Ubuntu 10.10 (2.6.35-23-generic x86_64).
My internet used to work (out of the box) without any problems, but after install of Windows Vista (Home Ed. 32bit), I am unable to use the internet in Ubuntu. The network card is a Linksys WMP600N Wireless-N PCI Adapter. In Windows it works without problems.
I have recently just downloaded ubuntu 11.10 and before i installed, wireless worked perfectly in windows. Now that i have downloaded and installed ubuntu, i know longer have windows. I do not have a wired connection at my house, only a mifi, so my computer is useless now without internet. I really like the functionality of ubuntu, but need internet.
I have a Compaq pessario CQ60, a wireless network, and a Atheros AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter and I cant get the wireless internet to connect. the wireless works fine on vista, and I got the internet working via cable, but I need to get it working wirelessly. I am a beginner to linux, but know a little ( nothing in terminal though).
Hi,
I am new to Ubuntu. I just installed Ubuntu Netbook on my Dell Latitude D610. I need a wireless USB adapter to use the internet. I decided to make use of the SMC EZ Connect g 802.11g Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter, which I used on Windows XP. Unfortunately Ubuntu recognizes the adapter (lsusb in the terminal). But that's it.
I'm dual clienting windows vista and ubuntu 11.10, and i have it set to where i can choose which i use at startup. Now the problem i'm having is that i use and external usb wireless adapter and i can't figure out how to either install the program that runs it or even make ubuntu find it.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop using Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-card (This is what Windows Vista says I have). I have installed Ubuntu as dual boot with existing Windows Vista. Wireless is not working in Ubuntu but working flawlessly in Windows. Here is the output using CODE: lspci. Please take a look at this output and let me know what I should do next. I am a newbie with Linux.
Hello everyone :)!
I recently moved from windows vista -.- to the almighty Ubuntu! I love the theme, I'm falling in love with everything.
However, I have a dell 1450 wireless adapter that won't work on here as i have no clue on how to install the drivers off the CD i have. I've looked at other threads in this forum and still i can't find my answer.
I just recently installed Ubuntu 12.04, replacing windows vista on my Inspiron and it wont connect to the internet by any means. It won't detect any wireless networks and when I try the ethernet cord, I can see "wired connection 1" in the network manager but the symbol on the panel is a wireless signal with 0 bars. Furthermore when I open firefox, it says there isn't a connection.
