hi guys' i'm new to ubuntu...i have installed ubuntu 10.10 i have phillips saa713x pci tv tuner card.....pls help how to make it work in ubuntu...i dont know any command ..so pls specify the commands also

I have to change my graphics from ATI to my Mainboard's built in adapter.
It detects the adapter but give two only options for resolution : 640x400 or, 640x350.
How can I can set it to 1024x768 ?

this sounds dumb, but i get no sound.
the speakers worked fine on another unit, so thats out.
no sound on anything... flash video, TORCS, you name it. its completely mute.

I have a Toshiba a215 satalite laptop and when upgrading from 11.04 to 11.10 I completely lost the sound card. It worked fine in 04 but does not show up on lspci or aplay -l.
