[ubuntu] No sound on Radeon HD 5770 HDMI output

As far as I can tell, the drivers I need are installed. But still no sound.

Can you please help me solve this problem.

I've done an exhaustive search for a solution. Any links or information regarding how to get HDMI sound to work will be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone in here help?, sound was working fine this morning. I plugged in a HDMI cable and sound worked fine through the TV. I unplugged it and sound never returned. Even after a reboot. It won't come back.

I've just set up Ubuntu running on what I hope to be a media computer. Video over HDMI works fine but audio does not. I'm using the onboard HDMI port on a Asus F1A75-M motherboard.

I've got onboard sound and an nvidia card with HDMI out. I managed to get sound going out of the nvidia for my XBMC setup but I can't get my onboard sound to actually do anything. I want XBMC to the hdmi and everything else to be local.

I have installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my Lenovo Y530 in a separate partition along with Vista.

Now the problem is that there is no sound if I am using Ubuntu, Vista is fine. I checked many websites but no solution helped.

I have a nvidia gt 520 and i'm having hard time to make the sound working through hdmi. I'm using the latest drivers from nvidia with the latest fedora kernel.

File ". Asound" I have configured to work with the card 0.
