I have bought Asus G550JK laptop(G version of N550) and installed Ubuntu 14.04 on it. I'm just a beginner in using Ubuntu, but I managed to make everything work fine except the external SonicMaster subwoofer. There is no 2.1 option in Sound Settings, I think Ubuntu doesn't see the subwoofer.
I have an Asus N551jk. I have dual boot on it. Sound works on Windows 8.1, but not on Ubuntu 14.10. More precise sometimes it works, but various events like a simple reboot, can make it not work again....
I followed the steps described here: Sound not working Ubuntu 14.10 (Pulseaudio + ALSA?) FIXED! . It worked for a while, but now it doesn't work again...
I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 linux kernal 2.6.39-3-bb03 on my Asus U52F-BBG6 laptop and the sound works but only thru my internal speakers and I cant use my headphones that have a mic on them. well technically they are headsets. but can't get any sound out of them when i plug them into and cant record any sound from the mic even though they are pluged into the mic and headphone jacks.
I am having trouble with outputing stereo sound from my Asus N550JV laptop using Ubuntu 14.04. Left chanel works ok, but I believe that the subwoofer is playing the right chanel. How can I troubleshoot and solve this?
Thanks for the help.
A friend has just installed Xubuntu on my laptop (ASUS Z92V). The laptop speakers work but there is no sound coming out of the headphone jack. I use the laptop as an internet radio, CD player and all, can anybody help?
PS I am not an IT expert, so please talk to me like you would to a 5yo!
I connect laptop to TV for HDMI. The image see in TV, but it listen sound in TV. I install oem-audio-hda-daily-dkms and active sound-hmdi exists in sound-control, with hdmi5.1 and hdmi-stero options. I select whatever options, but no sound in TV. I see alximer, but no mute sound.
